In mid 2008, we had the pleasure of meeting the fresh-faced and very talented, Riley McKay.   At 12 years of age, Riley is a sensation within her unusual sport - barefoot waterskiing. Pottinger is proud to sponsor Riley, and support this extraordinarily talented and hardworking champion in her endeavours.

Riley is the current female Australian sub-junior champion, and is ranked within the top 5 female junior barefoot skiers in the world.  Riley's achievements include:

  • Awarded the Cumberland Courier Medal as Junior Sports Star of the Year
  • Being selected as a Greater Ambassador for the Central Coast Academy of Sports
  • At 12 years old, breaking into the top 5 female junior barefoot skiers in the world
  • At 12 years old, achieved a record-breaking 5th under-14 state title
  • Sliver medalist in the team event at the 2010 World Championships in Germany
  • At 12 years old, became the youngest person ever to be included in the Australian Squad for the World Championships
  • At 9 years old, breaking into the top 20 female junior barefoot skiers in the world
  • At 8 years old, competed for the first time at a world series event, placing 9th in the under-17 women's slalom
  • At 7 years old, won her first Australian barefoot waterskiing medal

Riley’s passion and commitment to her sport, and the courage with which she applies herself is inspiring and Pottinger is delighted to be able to support Riley in her sporting ambitions.
